Post subject:  Hand brake seizing on??

Hi guys, just had new rear discs fitted on my 205WRC by my local garage but he has gone sick and closed up so I cannot take it back to tell him that when I use the handbrake I cannot get it 'off' unless I roll backwards!!!
Is there a simple solution (as in he fooked up and put it back together wrong) or do I have to strip it all down and start again?
Merry Xmas btw.

There should be a hole in the hub to be able to adjust the shoes when the handbrake is off. I'd do this is the garage is closed for a while.

Happy Christmas to you too

Sent from my phone. Sorry for any mistakes

Typically an overtight handbrake will quickly "self adjust" in a horrible stinky cloud of smoke and then be ok again

If it keeps happening I'd suspect either a problem with a shoe (not seated correctly or friction lining detached) or a sticky cable. The reversing thing would make me suspect a problem with the shoes rather than the cable

It's worth checking the adjustment but I'd expect the problem to be inside the drum

My old 162 did exactly the same 20 years ago when one of the shoe linings detached :(
Eventually I had to fix it (and buy new underpants) when it started randomly deploying the handbrake when driving forward

If the pads strongly lit during the installation, it would not be able to put the brake discs. Therefore, we can conclude:
Or do not go Ropes parking brake.
Or the brake pads are not the party set.
I would check the correctness of the installation in any way.

And hello to you.
In my experience it happened and is not even.
I think if you're properly assembled, it would not be a problem. is not it?
In the summer I set myself new brake discs and new brake Pads a manual brake. And I have traveled all excellent.
Maybe different parts produced OEM toyota? :)

Thanks бешаный 202.
My pads and shoes were fine before so something happened during the new disc fitting!
I will sort it when weather is better. Thank you.

You vain laugh at my answer.
It must be very attentive to the assembly of parts (even if the parking brake).
