Hi There,

Can anyone tell me how the outer CV joint "Rear" comes off the drive shaft?

Have given it a whack but before I really hit it is there a circlip I am not seeing?

Any info would be great.

Thx

S

When i did the inner at the front there was a circlip that required the removal of the boot to get to. Not sure if the rear is the same.

Tap with mallet, if it doesn't come off, jiggle the spring clip around that secures it to the driveshaft and whack with mallet again...

Well got it off in the end....;o)

Put in a vice and gave a good whack with soft hammer came straight off

I'm guessing the new CV has a circlip so when the CV is pushed on to the drive shaft the cli locates in the groove, kind of locking it in..
