well, that would explain the oil leaking onto the exhaust and causing the smoke

im just in the middle of an oil change and have found the dipstick has sheared off where it enters the block. it looks to have left the interference fit part of the dipstick inside the block

ooh bugger - best get the turbo oil drain pipe off and get the welder out!

Least you know what was at fault.....waht would Have caused it to crack? Age?
