Well now my old 4 is sold i can begin project mutley.
The reason I’m calling my new 4 that is cuz its an old dog, been abused and not very well maintained.

Its got all the right bits, but some of them have been very poorly done.

So far i have:

Had it mapped at Thor racing
Found the HKS adjustable cam pulleys weren't dialed in correctly
Actuator preload was incorrect so boost was max at 4500 rpm rather than 3.2k
HKS BOV wasn't fitted correctly so the turbo was trying to pressurise the world’s atmosphere
The seats weren’t bolted in correctly
The harness wasn't bolted in correctly
Blitz EBC was setup incorrectly, now running at full boost high at 1.2 bar and low at 0.9 bar
Battery relocated to the boot – and that was flopping around like a *bleep* in a sock.
Repositioned the exhaust to stop the rattling

Next job:
The wheels were stickered with OZ racing centers but it turns out that they are RS Advan – what a lucky find, these are going to Jerry up in Preston tomorrow for powder coating.

After that:
Brakes – I’m going to fit EBC redstuff pads, these coupled with black diamond disks should give some good stopping.
Reposition the FMIC so that the pipe isn't dragging on the ground
Refit the transmission cooler as thats hanging by a tie wrap.
the list goes on...

wish me luck!!

Sounds like your having a good time as always!!
Still at least your moving forward!! :D

With regard to the Redstuff pads, I have yellow stuff on all 4 corners & they are dire & I mean dire, if I were you I would stay away from EBC pads altogether, I am looking to change mine for Endless CC-X Carbon Metallic Pads, have heard nothing but praise for them (Very popular in Japan) Here’s what a drifting/track racing friend of mine said about them “have stronger bite and much better performance with no fade on the track. They also last well and don’t need heating up.” That was compared to the EBC Yellows I have.

Redstuff… well if you install them don’t forget to buy a boat anchor, I have a feeling you will need it

I had red stuff on my other 4 - and they were very good, however they do have a tendency to squeel.

If there are as good pads for the price - i'll go for those, but so far red stuff seem to be the best value???

What do you reccon?

  Must be just my Yellows then...
When heated they work well, but the down side is getting heat into the pads in the first place, then keeping the heat in the pads & finally they are about 3 to 4mm shorter fit then my existing pads so they move & clonk when braking in reverse (Or forward) for the first time

& id just found a place selling boat anchors cheap for us too!!

Stevo,
He's not really a contact, just some guy in Japan that imports cars & parts with more information the more I buy items off him

My car is rumoured to be running the Green stuff pads (sticker under bonnet) and has been upgraded with custom bells & rotors (grooved & drilled but stockish size).

Initial bite is awesome - after a little pushing they seem to get overworked and becoem a little squidgey - I know the Green stuff are reported to be totally the wrong compund for the heavy GT-Four. If they are what I have then they are Ok for road but I will change them before any serious trackwork.

Well the saga continues…

I got the wheels all nice and powder coated.. and don’t they look sweet!!

However I found out that the nuts are wrong for this type of wheel, and there are no spigots.

So I’m off to look for some new nuts and spigots – anyone got any suggestions on where to look?

You might have some luck at somewhere like Rally Design, or maybe Demon Tweeks.

I got a set of centre bore adaptors from - www.performancealloys.com

Helpful guys. iirc they were ~£30 delivered with wheel nuts.
