All I know is that set-up is an SX Fuel pressure regulator plus anodised fitting kit & pressure gauge.
So I guess you are looking for an SX anodised fitting kit :? :?

Injectors - the SARD 800's are a direct replacement i.e. no wiring issues, no connector issues etc etc.

You will probably want to fit new seals and o-rings though?

These are expensive from Toyota...

Think Automotive should be able to supply something to fit. http://www.thinkauto.com

Er,

I didn't think the O rings were very 'spensive. Seem to recall JP bought the complete set for circa 10 squid with about the same again for insulators

Could be wrong on that though

Just booked Mutley in for injectors and the fuel pressure regulator to be fitted.
Do you have the part numbers for the o rings and insulators ?

I got him booked into Thor on the 28th too ;-)

Rob, given the collective experience with Thor I trust you will be asking them to go conservative with the timing, fueling and hence the knock readings....at least until you've got the forged pistons?

yes i will - i will ask them to go for a drive after too, and make sure that the knock readings aren't sky high like last time.

In their defence - there was a few problems with the car before it was mapped, now hopefully most of those (well the ones i've found) are resolved!

This project is still going on - some of my other posts i have added for continuation of this thread..

whats happened since ^ post

Boost went down to 0.5 bar and i was unable to increase this with the EBC.
Looked at blades in the turbo and found these had sucked in some crap
Turbo went back to fensport (turbo dynamics) took 4 weeks to repair, then i have refitted it with a new actuator bracket (design sent by a pal on the OC)
Took it out for the first drive last night, and problem with boost is still there...!
So what do i do - i suspect the problems due to the actuator bracket - so i'll be testing it later??

Have you checked that all hoses etc connected to teh plenum and that all jubilee clips are doen up? I knwo it sound sdaft but if youare trying to pressurise teh world it could take some time :-)
It does sound as though the actuator bracket could be suspect. stick your bicycle pump and a pressur egauge on it and see when it is cracking open.

If its not boosting past 0.5bar are you sure the wastegate is closing properly? I presume that you were able to check that the wastegate bellcrank was able to move freely when you had the turbo and actuator off for repair?

Its not unknown for the wastegate to stick partly open. The iconel shaft can seize in the wastegate housing after a hard and hot run. This is quite common on the rally cars and it happened to me too after a track session.

It looks like i have found the problem, and it was indeed the wastegate. I have adjusted the preload again and it's now boosting to 1 bar and above.

I must say that the 4 is now a changed beastie, took me by surprise when it started to go beyond 0.5 bar... waheyy!

I'm going to give the car a few weeks of running before i recommence with the injectors and mapping.

Now I’m going to start on those niggles – like the jingles and rattles.

Thanks for all the help chaps

Cheers
Rob

Nice to see Mutley is back in ya good books for a bit :-) really makes it all worthwhile when you boot it and get that silly grin over ya face.

Thanks JP, was very close to taking a hammer to it.. but to find this easy fix was a real bonus!
I hope things start to settle down with Mutley.. I think i might buy another car to help ease the pain when he's playing up?
