hmm - excessive corrosion or perishing? if they are detailing corrosion then they are the metal pipes which are a PITA to sort unless you custom bend new ones from copper (are you still allowed to do this for MOT purposes??)

You may get away with a wire brush and some rust resisting paint?

as of my last MOT in september copper pipes are still allowed, its the only real way to bend your own pipes without significant expense (as steel is too difficult by hand).

its not expensive nor difficult to "roll your own", a pipe cutter is £2, 25 ft of 3/16 copper is about £8, set of flaring tools is about £15...its just a little daunting at first

a word of warning, be sure to DOUBLE flare the copper pipes. a single flare will not stand up to 1200psi of brake pressume and will pop out of the union. this happened to me :)
