with increasing oil leaks, rattling , loss of power etc etc.

my 3sgte engine leaks so much under boost, it causing my oil seals to be forced out..lol.... its still runs..

kown about my engine decay for a while, an old engine being subjected to some rather heavy driving, with the addition of the megasquirt, resulted in one worn out motor..

time for a replacement engine..

how did you find the mega squirt when installed, did it make the drive better, did it increase power at all did it fook up ya engine or was that down to experimenting.

still an option i am considering...

Hi Kris

PCV to a catch can, back to turbo intake, a dirty way, but helps reduce crank vapour build up, if routed to air only , its smokes real bad

Massive leakage of boost, the stock cam cover pcv pipe is very busy, oil into catch can grey some days, lot of piston rattle when subjected to any boost, but all okay when in NA mode. :) well allmost..

Engine is drying.. no power :(
got to get mt finger out, finish my engine build.

Jon - sounds like the way to do PCV from what I see :)

Routing the PCV back to intake maybe the messiest option but as I understand it there is a performance enhancement by utilising this method :)

Hi. Midnite

I bought the car last year, with burnt out valves, fitted a second-hand head.

Had quite a few other problems with aged & failing parts, but nothing to bad.

installed the mega squirt.

Took the liberty of installing a front mount, clocking the turbo, with a few other tweaks here and there.

few problems with the vR setup on the dizzy, finally got to work well, still don’t trust it, hall effect far more reliable..

a few days of tweaking etc, everything under ms control, drove well, no problems with pickup, idle, etc, very usable around town, good on open roads..

Calibrating the sensors is the key, time taken on this section, gives good results later.

After a few months, started to push the tuning side of things, very noticeable power increase running over 1bar,, ended up , running the turbo to max limit, would boost to 19/21 psi, unfortunately not quite the volume of flow, boost would roll off little at higher rpm, further mapping around 5600 - 6600 allowed better turbo pressure to be maintained.

a custom down pipe further modding to the turbo ,fitted 205 injectors, the final straw, but well worth while.

I measure the ignition advance using the stock denso, helped a little with the ms, but each ecu type, has its own response function, sort of thingy.

The pistons at the time, were quite poor, with the added abuse from running the MS they did, on a few accessions got a little nuked.

Sadly, further decay over the last few months has resulted in heavy oil use, blue smoke, especially when I don’t empty the catch can on a weekly basis.

Very poor fuel economy, with very poor performance, specially when cold, not that I rev cold engines, but before, one could pull away with very little gas, these day’s I have to warm the engine a little, clear the blue smoke, use a few k of revs.

Thai last little rant caused further decay, so an engine swap is now on the cards very shortly.

A more up to date engine loom will be fitted, alongside engine install, once completed. the ms, eruo-4 & pectel ecu can be used.

The overall out come of using the ms was a lot better than expected, seeming its very cheap, it does for sure work.

Some of the challenges with the ms, did take up time, this was something i did not cater for, looking back, the time spent was not really justified from the return, but well worth the experience..

woooo 21 psi no wonder it died thats pretty impressive though.

if its standard internals.

was that on a ct 20 or 26 turbo?

I think i will do it if its just for the experiance i mean i am only looking to run 12-15 psi on this engine max

maybe some bigger injectors.

boost control and maybe N2O anti lag on occasions

oh and a front mount of course i want to run fords edis wasted spark system as apposed to toyotas vast systen dizzy.

but i needs me radiator first... didnt get any replies to me emails last time i contacted the suppliers on the koyo post though....
