Following news that World Rally Cars will be banned from the British Rally Championship (and from National B rallies) in 2006, the British Rallycross Drivers Association will admit the cars to the MSA British Rallycross Championship from 2006.
"We will provide a place where those drivers who want to continue using WR Cars can do so. The MSA British Rallycross Championship can offer these drivers no longer able to compete in in the British Rally Championship or National B events a good package of events," said BRDA Chairman John Horton.
The BRDA has already sought informal advice from the MSA to ensure its plan to open the championship to WR Cars is acceptable.
The BRDA will provide full details of how WR Cars will be accommodated in the championship (either together with the existing Supercars, or in a separate category), along with dates for the 2006 championship at the final round of this year's championship at Croft on October 30.
