Le Mans 2008 in Pictures. I decided to post in a new thread as the original was taking too long to load with so many pics

First refuelling stop in froggyland
The BumbleBee (Mike's Westfield SuperSport Zetec 1800)
Mazda 757 Group C flaming during the Historic Group C/IMSA GTP practice session

So much for the historics.....the pics below are all of the contemporary Le Mans cars:
Lola-MG (AER 2litre turbo engine) LMP2 run by Ray Mallock Racing
Dome Judd LMP1 in qualifying
Pescarolo Judd LMP1 entered by Martin Short's Rollcentre Racing
The very attractive Epsilon Euskadi - Judd
The Lola Aston run by Prodrive for Charouz Racing Systems went off the road when Jan Charouz ran out of talent. Fortunately the car was repairable
The Lola-Judd LMP2 car ran third in class behind the two Porsche RS Spyders. It eventually broke a drive shaft and had to retire
The Courage YGK was entered by a team of university students
Corvette C6R
The 'Vette team always use sodium lighting in their pit to make it easier for the tired drivers to pick out at night!
A great shot of the Japanese Dome Judd mechanics putting their backs into it during an unscheduled night stop to fix a broken gearbox.
The new Oreca-Judd LMP1 seen in the pits during night qualifying
The race winning Audi R10 LMP1 driven by McNish, Kristensen and Cappello was quicker in the wet than the Peugeot. Here, looking rather battle weary it is being driven by Tom Kristensen.
A moments inattention negotiating the chicanes on the Mulsanne resulted in the Dome losing half its nose cone. Fortunately without serious mechanical consequences.
Rain showers in the final couple of hours made for a tense finish. The lead Audi and Peugeot separated by less than two minutes (half a lap) after almost 24 hours of racing.
Here, one of Audi's stops for a fresh set of intermediate tyres.
Although there's no class for petrol engined LMP1 cars the Pescarolo team could take some satisfaction from beating everyone else in this 'class'
The second placed Peugeot 908 LMP1 of Minassian put up a huge fight with the lead Audi in the last couple of hours including a lurid 720 degree spin right in front of our grandstand. The team even tried high downforce bodywork to try and make the tyres work.
The winning LMP2 Porsche RS Spyder of the Dutch Van Merkstein team
LMGT1 Classification
The winning Aston Martin DBR9 LMGT1
Second placed LMGT1 Corvette C6R of Ron Fellows in his last ever Le Mans 24 hour race
Top step of the podium for the tired but happy Allan McNish co-driver of the winning Audi R10. The disconsolate crew of the second placed Peugeot 908 can be seen behind him!

Our Le Mans 2008 team - minus Mike and Claire
Parked outside Nigel C's house in Montreuil. Nigel very kindly put us up for night in this very picturesque village.
The next day we took the coast road back to Calais from Montreil. Fortunately the weather was good so Mike didn't have to use the Westfield's hood.
