Motorsport Events Academy Training Day Keevil Airfield 04 July 2008

Had the opportunity to pit crew for Mike when he signed up to do the driver training last week with Motorsports Events. Took the spy cam along to record the proceedings for your collective entertainment

The MD of Motorsports Events himself - Ed Moore, winner of more than 50 Formula Ford Races and the current holder of the prestigious FF1600 Golden Helmet event held this year at the Castle Combe circuit in Wiltshire, his 'home' track :D

Image

The ME Instructor was a multiple winner of Caterham races and an ex champion himself. He gave a thorough briefing before the start of the slalom test

Lined up and ready for action

A 'blurple' Caterham (TVR multi-hue paint)

Listening attentively to the instructors pearls of wisdom

Was that really me that knocked this cone over?

Image

Bu88er! that's another cone gone

Image

Let me place this in a more secure location

Image

Hey, someones nicked my car!

Image

This was a 350+bhp Escort Cosworth engined Dax Rush. For this run the owner had wound the boost up to 30psi and clearly had trouble stopping the thing :D

Image

The donk itself

Image

Ferrari sounded great

Image

Toyota 4A-GE engined Caterfield thingy. The owner reckoned it was putting out around 160bhp

Image

Image

There were lots of Elise S2's of different types

Image

Caterham 7

Image

Race prepped BMW 320 was using the day as an opportunity to test a new fuel swirl pot

Image

The owner of this Nissan 350Z said the car was completely stock and he was just using the day to learn how to control the car at the limit

Image

TVR .... a now extinct Russian sports car. Don't ask me which model as I've lost count of the number they have brought out ;-)
