Post subject: | Circuit Driver Training Day - Keevil Airfield |
Motorsport Events Academy Training Day Keevil Airfield 04 July 2008 Had the opportunity to pit crew for Mike when he signed up to do the driver training last week with Motorsports Events. Took the spy cam along to record the proceedings for your collective entertainment Paddock scene The MD of Motorsports Events himself - Ed Moore, winner of more than 50 Formula Ford Races and the current holder of the prestigious FF1600 Golden Helmet event held this year at the Castle Combe circuit in Wiltshire, his 'home' track The ME Instructor was a multiple winner of Caterham races and an ex champion himself. He gave a thorough briefing before the start of the slalom test Lined up and ready for action A 'blurple' Caterham (TVR multi-hue paint) Mike rolls out ready to attack the slalom course Listening attentively to the instructors pearls of wisdom Was that really me that knocked this cone over? Bu88er! that's another cone gone Let me place this in a more secure location Hey, someones nicked my car! This was a 350+bhp Escort Cosworth engined Dax Rush. For this run the owner had wound the boost up to 30psi and clearly had trouble stopping the thing The donk itself Ferrari sounded great Toyota 4A-GE engined Caterfield thingy. The owner reckoned it was putting out around 160bhp There were lots of Elise S2's of different types Caterham 7 Race prepped BMW 320 was using the day as an opportunity to test a new fuel swirl pot The owner of this Nissan 350Z said the car was completely stock and he was just using the day to learn how to control the car at the limit TVR .... a now extinct Russian sports car. Don't ask me which model as I've lost count of the number they have brought out The unloved front wheel drive Lotus Elan |
