Unfortunately only the final times count so I bet Jonny was turning the air blue in the Celica when he went wide on the grass. I think Adrian did an amazing job considering his car doesn't have the extreme mods that Jonny's has. Great effort from both guys :D

yeah great job on both counts, just goes to show that the 3s is no shy engine with the right parts and a small 2l is nothing to be sniffed at from the big boys.

well done

A few pics of Jonny Milners run in the final top ten shootout. His 'wide' on the grass in the first pic was nothing compared to his lawn mowing exploits further up the hill

Great pics. Exciting what these cars are still capable of in the right hands.

First time out on Friday Jonny had a spin and grass cutting exercise at the bottom of the course due to cold tyres.
Adrian was lucky to run at all....when I spoke to him Friday he was on the reserve list.
Great effort by both Jonny and Adrain :D
...and good publicity for TSS.

Adrian's car is running the TRD front LSD, anyone know what the orange car is running?

great stuff, and great pictures, why did adrian end up running?

but to be fair, with how fast his car is i think it should of been running in the first place!!

and considering milners car was 400kg heavier it makes the car all the more impressive!!

I took this picture of the engine bay gearbox side which shows that the gearbox seems to be a mactrak its certainly very different from standard! Not sure if this company made the front differential as well.

The Toyota MR2 based Group S rally car (one of only two ever made) blew a crankshaft oil seal on Friday so Adrian stepped up as first reserve for the Toyota runners :D

Jonny Milners GT-Four was running a six speed MaxTrak gearbox, centre diff and rear plate diff. The centre diff is not electronic but is adjustable for torque split front to rear. All up its about GBP50,000 for this setup

I'll stick some spy-cam pics up on a separate thread ; -)
P.S. Mike beat me to it but I have some others

just to add regarding milners car
the maxtrak gearbox is from an evo, with funky adapter plate to bolt onto the 3sgte bottom end

everything past the adapter plate is evo, diffs front and transfer, plus rear diff. all trick. rear subframe is tubular bespoke and driveshafts also modified to suit. the flappy paddle shift is new, he didnt have that at woodbridge! at that round of the TSS it was a straight rod from the shifter through the chassis to the mechanism on the gearbox itself.

look how skinny adrians tyres are, he was running on 200mm wide slicks, which is all the michelin man had spare at zero notice! also, adrian was running flatshift and pressed the clutch pedal slightly accidentally whilst at WOT, this caused the engine to self limit (on/off switch on the pedal to allow flatshift), resulting in no power and required a downshift to get back on the power.

lots of should have, and would have, but in the end they both gave a sterling effort and did pretty well ;)

i just happened to drop into fensport today on other business and we got chatting, at great lengths :)
theres no trade secrets being spilled here, everything could be seen.

one tasty bit tho, is people are calling into question the power of 700bhp (without nitrous) at 5700rpm, saying its a typo and the journalist meant 7500rpm instead. nope, jonnys car doesnt rev, it really does make that much power at a low rev count. adrian doesnt know why, but he suspects its due to the engine build, possibly because it began life as a WRC engine.

Good info Andy! Adrian did describe most of it but my sieve like memory couldn't retain it all.

Any idea what the throttle body is. Is it also off an Evo?
