First day of testing for this years Formula Ford 1600 Walter Hayes Trophy. Weather was rather unhelpful to lap times as the track was wet to damp for most of the day. Tried out my new Replay XD1080 onboard video camera later in the afternoon once the track had dried. I am very impressed with the quality of the video. Once I've worked out how to edit the file and upload it I'll post a link.

Looking forward to the link. I was checking the Wx all day while there on the 2nd, was due to rain at 4am the next day pretty heavily which it sounds like you unluckily caught.

∞ 1995 ST205 JDM ∞

Its been a busy couple of weeks since the race. Managed to finish 17 out of 29 starters in the Progression race on the Sunday. Was a good close battle in the middle of the pack avoiding spinning cars and eventually got past the guys in front and lead the mid-pack over the line at the finish.

I'm the blue car working my way through the mid-pack as the older Merlyn spins at Brooklands


Times were a bit slower than the test day the week before mainly due to oil on the racing line. My team mate spun on this and I just avoided him (for the second time in the weekend!)

The digital dash and datalogger werent working all weekend so we arranged another test day for 17 Nov and I'm pleased to say its all working fine now. Problem was a dodgy rpm pickup from the main HT lead from the dizzy and some software config problems. I also set up the Replay XD1080 camera on the roll hoop for the final session of this test. BTW the car which passes me is a Formula 3 Dallara, a stonking bit of kit, like a mini F1 car
