Just had an email through from Dolphin MC, seems they're trying to organise an event at short notice and are deperate for entries.
No info on the website, I'll ring them tomorrow evening and find out more.
Not certain if I'm entering yet as my only running celica is bordering on a slipping clutch. I'll make a decision once I've spoken to them.

Hi Members

Who would like to do a local auto solo? Barton Stacey is on the A303 near Thruxton.

Dear All

We have plenty of spaces left and we are still hoping to run the event, but we need to meet our minimum number and so far that hasn’t been reached, so I would be grateful if you could push the details out again to your members, with a request to let us know ASAP if they are interested in an entry.

Many thanks

Ian

By the way, an autosolo is an 'all forwards' autotest on sealed surface, no passengers, cones are numbered and arrowed to show which side to drive. Effectively a halfway house to a sprint.

The event format is slightly different in that it is 'self marshalling' - the drivers are split into 3 groups, while group 1 is driving, group 2 is marshalling and group 3 is resting. This then switches round. It's a very social sort of event as you are split into small groups to man the marshalling points.

I don't mind car share if you want to use my car Chris.

I have heard car share is better for the environment :D

Just spoken to the comp-sec. They're currently on about 14 entries and looking to get close to 20 for the event to go ahead. They will need completed entry forms by the end of this week.

The course is apparently going to be fast & flowing and thus very suitable for our cars.

This was a really enjoyable day, more at the sprint end of the 'halfway house'.

I managed a 2nd in class behind a fairly quick EVO.

Unfortunately the day was marred a little by Dan leafing his braking a bit late and taking the trunk route in his Dad's car. A wee bit of panel beating required.

A bit of T-Cut and it will be fine :D

Great day though, thoroughly enjoyed it, even with the mishap.

And well done Chris for the 2nd place.

I would have won but my aerodynamics were affected by the scratch

Oh no. That doesn't look good.
Well done chris, I missed out on this as was at santapod over whole weekend for the gymkhana grid final, but as I knew you guys were in some field tearing it up, I thought id join In on the action, so did my own mini auto solo in a very wet muddy santaopod carpark field that was empty, and even got oakley sliding the car!
This is what was left on car after.
