So after chatting through options with various different people we have come up with a plan for the Japfest replacement event.

Date: 4th May 2013
Time: 10am

Location:

Haynes International Motor Museum
Sparkford
Yeovil
Somerset
BA22 7LH

http://www.haynesmotormuseum.com/home.php

The entry cost is £11 each.

The plan is to visit the museum which is supposed to be very good. Then at around 1:30 head of to a local pub for some lunch.

After that we’ll take a drive to somewhere scenic for chat and photo’s etc.

That’s the plan for the day but there seems to be quite a lot of interest in camping overnight either on the Friday night before or the Saturday night after. I have a campsite in mind that allows campfires so we can have some beers and cook smores on the campfire!

I've gone for the 4th of May to allow members who still want to attend Japfest to do so on the 11th May and so as not to clash with the proposed corner weighting event organised by Treacle on the 18th.

Please stick your names down on the list to say if you are coming and then whether you would like to camp on the night before or the night after and I will sort everything out.

Shame, I will be in sunny Australia watching the V8 Supercars in Perth. May have a drive in the FFord support if things work out

Camping Friday would probably make more sense to save early starts for the more distant people.

Wouldn't camp, but might pop over on the Saturday. As this is the bank holiday weekend ?

Just checking up to see if the plan is still on track for this

Lots of interest at the curry meet last night so we might need to start booking campsite places if it's a definite go

We're talking of camping Saturday night so Lewis & Alex can join us mid / late afternoon. It'll probably be a bit more sociable too to extend the Saturday for those that want rather than rushing after work Friday.

Just to chuck in another idea, how about doing Haynes on Sunday so people who work Saturday can join us ?
