This is early days and still fleshing out the details- and being a rookie faffer I don't know many fellow owners in real life. However I know there are quite a few Dorset, Hampshire, Brighton based GT-Four owners about.

My Girlfriends Father (Dave) has just recently taken ownership of the rather quaint and well located Rising Sun Pub in Wimborne, they do a Sunday Carvery amongst many other deals such as Beer and burgers etc, with a good selection of ales and lager. It has parking out back and is situated quite literally on the river. There is an idyllic linear beer garden running the length of the property which is adjacent to the river, so it's nice and cool on a hot summer's day.Dogs welcome.

I mentioned that I would try and spread the word about the pub on the DC. However Dave is a bit of a petrol head himself (owns the last season MX5...reasonable effort) and would be quite happy for a gathering of GT-fours (or equally awesome cars) to pop in at the weekends and maybe strike up a bit of a DC deal for food and beverages.

So if there are some positive murmurings about this then I will go away and do some planning, get some menus and start putting a proper plan together.
There are also some cracking driving roads around this area and of course its not a massive drive to the beach and areas such as sand banks for some nice group photos or to satisfy the extremely patient/understanding significant other.

So let me know if you think this sounds like a good idea, a few pubs ago Dave used to cater for the local Morgan owners club, so I imgine some jap enthusiast should be nice and easy

It's a great pub - I've propped up the bar there at many a folk festival - but parking is a bit limited for a car meet I suspect

Sounds like a good idea. With the numbers we get these days for meets I don't expect parking to be a problem Steve!

Free parking in town if you know where to look, or pay in waitrose round the corner.

Some people are like a Slinky .. Not really good for anything, but they make you smile when you shove them down the stairs!
