I am seriously thinking about joining TSS next year and trying to work out what improvements I can do to the car without going up a class.

Under TSS rules would an ST202 McPherson conversion count as "modified suspension pick up points" or "standard suspension pick up points"? I want to now if it makes a difference to what class my car would be eligible for if I do this conversion - currently I think I qualify for A2 Pro (forged engine, motec, TT hybrid turbo etc etc) but want to know if doing this would push me up to A1 Street where people will be running much more power as it is not limited to OE type turbochargers like mine.

Also if I fitted a big brake kit would this change my class?

Cheers :D

Now back home and mapped to 531bhp & 411lb/ft - that's enough power for now! :D

SS conversion is fine. pickup ponts refers to welding new mounting points for the suspension arms etc.
all youre doing is replacing the struts and hubs, possibly cross member, for macpherson bits

best place to ask these questions is on the TSS forum, or ring adrian at fensport

Not sure why you'd want to go away from SS for sprinting. My experience is that it reduces the tight turn understeer compared to a 185.

The disadvantage of SS is that it's more fragile on rough stuff and more expensive to replace as a wear item.

As well as the wear and tear and just to simplify a complicated system it was also a consideration for weight saving - have seen reports on saving 25-35kg off the front end by doing this conversion which is a good amount to shift off the front.

I am not exclusively building the car for sprinting and TSS, it is a road car and track car and will be used on full circuits not just sprints.
