New one on me.

The most likely reason for cutting out is if the DV is slightly open at idle - which most are - allowing air in without it passing through the AFM, thereby causing a weak mixture.

Ideally 165 & 185 should have a recirc DV plumbed back in between turbo & AFM which will then prevent unmetered air entering the system. Alternatively you may get away with tightening up the spring (stiffer spring, or adjustment if available) so the valve is shut at idle.

Exactly what Chris said!

There's a specific version of the Bailey DV26 available for AFM cars but I suspect it's just a boggo version with added spring

If the DV has any leaks it will stall the car.

To test your dv try attaching a foot pump to a length of hose attached to teh Dv and submerse the hole lot in a bucket of water. My HKS required a bit of plumbers tape on the adjustment thread to stop the leak and make the car idle. Check all teh vac lines you screwed with when you added the DV too ;-)

The Bailey DV26?? worked fine and the only effect/difference it had was extra over-fuelling between gear changes! The Dv does indeed just have an upgraded spring over the std Bailey.

What DV are you using?

Its a cheapo one, looks like the forge ones but i doubt that its genuine

there doesnt seem to be a spring inside, if you unscrew the nipple on the top it just screws out. nothing attached to it

There's no way of taking it apart
