2min 07s lap from testing on Friday, before I manned up and started hitting Druids in 4th with a dab/flick to scuff off some speed instead of braking and hitting 3rd:

Race 1. Good start but boxed in and had to back out, lost me a couple of places down to 9th. Had to fight back up to 6th. Got me pole for race 2:

Unfortunately my vbox battery died on the outlap for race 2. Gutted, first ever time leading a Mini race and then some interesting goings on, none of it on camera :(

Was that your first visit? The Oulton International circuit is a great drivers track. Would encourage anybody reading this to try it on a trackday even if you don't have a racecar :D

We raced it in 2010, but my car was under the weather and seriously down on power.

Took some laps to get back in to the swing of it but hammering Island flat just feels awesome. Absolutely love the circuit!

In the FF1600 I find I usually reel cars in through Island but in practice I did slightly overcook it and miss my braking point, locked up all four wheels and skipped straight over the Shell hairpin gravel trap over the grass and back onto the track all in one easy move. Missed the tyre wall by about 6 inches

I said to my flat mate before we went down, if there's ONE place you DONT wanna over cook it at Oulton, its Island

I don't brake for Island either but I guess even in the Mini you do have to brake for the Shell hairpin?

Sorry, get you now, yeah, just a touch

Shell is one of the toughest corners to find the right balance of getting in the groove vs stuck in the rut. Braking the car in a straight line isnt all that easy either!

They missed the incident which cost me a better finish which was a bit annoying but hey ho. Vindicated the contact through dear leap at least.

2 things became apparent from the interview, MotorsTV have no idea what Bawbag means or my tshirt would have been pixelated, I need to get down the gym!
