Well it is almost a week since the A1 launched . . . and I have had mixed responces from people that were there and others who watched it on Sky

I have to say that it was probably much better to be there with the atmosphere (which wasn't much initially but which built as Robbie Kerr made his way to the front of the race!) than at home watching it on the telly.

We were at the hairpin (druids bend) for the race, so could see the cars as they swooped round padock hill bend down thru druids and off towards cooper straight . . . there was a reasonable amount of over taking (probably most done by Verstappen as he had to start from the back of the grid!) and a few wobbles as people exited Druids and were a bit heavy with the 'loud' pedal! I think we had a good spot and saw a fair amount of action through out the whole day.

All in all I would say that for the money it was a very good day out. I would have been dissapointed if I had paid a great deal more for the experience, but I can say that I will almost definitely be there again next year (hopefully with a grandstand seat though!)

Some people are like a Slinky .. Not really good for anything, but they make you smile when you shove them down the stairs!

The feedback seems to split into two camps, those who went to Brands to see the racing 'in the flesh' so to speak and those who stayed home and watched it on Sky.

Generally speaking, those who watched it on TV were less impressed and sometimes downright critical of the racing. I haven't seen the TV coverage myself but from a spectators point of view there was lots of action, particularly in the longer feature race with more overtaking and almost half the field either crashing or breaking down. One car (the Lebanese entry) clashed with the French car and rolled upside-down into the gravel trap at Paddock Hill bend, fortunately without injury to the driver. At least it proves that Lola have built a strong car!

The GB entry (Robbie Kerr) managed to get into the lead with a slick pit stop :D but we never got the chance to see how he would have fared against Piquet Jnr. because his battery broke :(

It reminded me of the old F1 cars with lots of wheelspin and opposite lock action :D All in all, a good start to the series and I'd definitely go again if the ticket prices are kept at £29. The only downside was the queue to get out of the car park.
