The new coil gasket I bought and the gasket sheet you supplied should see it safely fitted.

Remember, get the back end as high up on the stands as possible to allow for maximum wigglability of the flange over the drive shaft.
You actually put the flange into the "hole" by approaching from the wheel arch and from below so you need the wheel off as well.

ps
When you feel like giving up cos the flange wont go past over and down, go for a brew add two sugars for strength and when you pick it up again she will slot into place.
Works for me everytime.

Will do.....I got some ramps I can use to raise the car and a 2.5 tonne jack for elevating a bit more if need be. Not forgetting the axle stands. :)

If not.....I'll have to swing some money at the lads down at the local garage to fit it for me.

That option of using the friendly Kwik fit is not a daft one Steve.
I have still got a sore shoulder from having to use a breaker bar to free off the bolts on the rear cross member to get the back box and middle pipe split. I would have happily handed £20 notes to the lads to have got it up in the air and got the air wrench on it.

ps
I have a picture of my cat  climbing in the tailpipe to have a look round and coming out with a sooty face (its a kitten not full grown :P )

oooh....forgot about the rear cross member...
it's just trusting the garage staff to make a good join with the 2 sections that scares me.... :(
Hmm....maybe I'll call them and find out. I will have 3 days to get it done in though so I might be alright if I give all the nessesary bolts a good soaking.

Not happening at the mo.... :(
Found 2 holes that need welding. So hopefully getting that sorted today.
Looking at the time I'm available it may also mean getting a garage to fit it....more £££.. :( .... at least I have found a garage that will fit it.....
Fingers crossed the repair will be ok... :)
