Thanks for the update, looking great.

I saw one at the Clasic Car section at Castle Combe Steam Rally a couple of weeks ago in red, looked stunning :D

I'd like to see one in a deep candy red but that does look really nice

I'd throw efi on mine too for the smug feeling that the traditionalists would probably suffer spontaneous pipe ignition from the smoldering outrage

I think the supercharged 6 is the ideal tool for the job to go with the EFI.

That really looks stunning. I have a real soft spot for E-types, my first memories of cars was the old man having a MKII and an E-type which still are amongst the prettiest cars on the road excluding italian exotica.

Which Martin is it?

I must confess to not having updated this thread for a while. Received some new pics a couple of weeks ago. These document some of the issues faced with identifying the connectors on the loom.

I think the story went something along the lines of the loom was left in the chassis with all the terminals carefully labelled up but then the overspray from the painting covered the labels so each end had to be identified again.....doh! Sounds like it was a right PITA. The front subframe and bonnet have been re-assembled and it all looks very impressive. The engine and gearbox are also back in and the GT-Four Collective Hoist (JP's actually) has been returned. No pics of this yet but I'm sure they will be in the next batch.

The original plan was to have completed this by the time of the Goodwood Revival meeting on 13-15 September

Latest progress report on the Jag restoration. Apparently the deadline slipped as nothing seems to fit properly the first time, lots of finessing required. Bit of a mystery why it doesn't fit back as it came off.

Wiring looms are fitted, all vacuum hoses brake and clutch, carbs, cooling and exhausts now on. Key may be turned in the next week 8)

Rather annoyingly the guy who adjusted the torsion bars ended up putting a dent in the bonnet.

Anyway here are a few more pics:

Seats and Centre Trim seemed to scrub up well :)

Seats in place. Looks temporary?

There's no surprise nothing fits!
Think about that new doohickey you bought, used once then tried to put back in the box. Then multiply the doohickey part count by 1000 and add a few new parts that were never in the box to start with. That's why it doesn't fit

The first turn of the key will also be preceded by an as yet undetermined period of "where tee eff did I put the keys 18 months ago"
