Ouch!

Did they pick up the tab for all that?

That warranty will cost them more than the car by the end of 3 years

Yep. I was presented with a bill for 0.00

I think BMW actually farm the warranty out to a 3rd party so they might actually be making a shedload of extra money on the deal. Someone somewhere is crying though as the bill now totals nearly 4k in a year

DSC and DTC driving stability control systems and the run flat indicator have failed. You can continue your journey but moderate your speed and exercise due caution. Visit your nearest authorised BMW repair agent and assume the position as soon as possible

I expepect they disturbed a sensor when they swapped the ABS system.

To my way of thinking, the actual problems are relatively trivial and with any older car I'd shrug my shoulders and not worry. The big issue is that the (likely false) warnings are now an MOT failure and the cost of a main dealer to sort it is horrific - and you probably need a main dealer to have the diagnostic kit to put the light out.

I'll say one thing for the Germans. They have excellent comedy timing

I've just got back from the dealer to a letter inquiring whether I would like to renew my warranty at a total cost of 0.00

Hmm, just give me a moment to invent a unit of time smaller than a femto second so I can use that to think about that.......

Anyway, it's been diagnosed as a loss of calibration of the steering angle indicator sensor. This has been reset (probably with the 2lb reset tool  ), goats have been sacrificed and incantations have been incanted.........
The service history reveals that it had a new steering column in 2012 and was then immediately traded in (the rest of the history is just a couple of niggles) so this isn't the first SAI issue it's suffered I suspect

"There may be trouble ahead.............."

Ah, the proverbial carpet edge has been lifted......wonder what more will be revealed?

The whole sorry saga must be a right PITA for you despite it not costing you a bean.

I would like to categorically state that I am not, nor have I ever been, a carpet lifter.
I may have experimented with a couple of rugs at university but I never vacuumed!

You should trade it in and get an older model, less temperamental.
