I think it's about time we funded a pool car for the club.

This old Datsun seems like an ideal candidate

Now I've rummaged around down the back of the sofa and found £1. A further check of all my cars has yielded an additional 47pence in change so only another £249,998.53 to go. Come on guys, give generously. It's for a good cause

That car has never run properly, I saw it at its last race at Donington in 2011 and it stripped the teeth off one of the Hewland VGC gears  In period it had its doors blown off by Dan Gurney's Toyota Eagle MkIII GTP.

For a more appropriate club project may I suggest this fine Toyota, fitted with a trusty 503E double IMSA championship winning engine same as the Toyota Eagle MkIII and Rod Millens Pikes Peak winning Celica and Tacoma hill climb cars.

Hmm
P.O.A
Or in other words if sir has to ask sir can't afford it

The old Datto might be an ideal opportunity for Team Boyack Racing to swing into action and display their orsum teknical noledge and mickannical xsproutise ahead of gaining sponsorship for the Celica project
If they can turn that around then the Coombe saloon cup is surely theirs barring random Mitsubishi torpedo attacks

I'm rather hoping Phil Stott has no idea how to get a Toyota running and it might be going for a song. You can count the number of Group C Toyotas in private hands on a one fingered hand . According to the bible 'Lightning Speed - The Nissan GTP & Group C Racecars' the Electramotive built NPTI90's (aka ZX Turbo's) needed a complete rebuild after each race.
Sounds like a L(ots)O(f)T(rouble)U(sually)S(erious)

According to the advert

It qualified fairly well on LeMans but the cars were struck with bad luck, as the first car stopped with a dead engine after just 33 minutes of racing the other car retired at 8.30 pm after being in the pits twice with major engine problems.

A rebuild a race makes the Datsun somewhere between 5 and 48 times more reliable than a Toyota :(

Maybe the Toyota would go better equipped with an uber rare plenum lovingly crafted from unobtanium
