And probably kevlar underpants too

Pat Doran had a bit of a puckering incident at Lydden Hill yesterday.

Poor car, not sure if it's the same one that fell off Pikes Peak last year

I couldn't see him get out of the car so I hope he's OK?

So much for the RS200 restoration. Makes you wonder if somebody doing the fuel system restoration hadn't secured all the fuel lines properly. It looked like either the fuel pump was still running and keeping the fire going or the tank split. The master switch should have killed the pump. Either way, it shows why the MSA mandate why there should be a firewall between the fuel tank and the driver.

I thought the marshals did a brilliant job at saving most of the car. I thought the car would have been a goner. One fire marshal in particular was pretty brave to stand that close to the fierce flames as the whole lot could have blown up in his face. Top effort by the boys in orange :D

Thankfully reports indicate that Pat was back trackside yesterday after a brief trip to hospital
I wonder if an oil line split and an accusump kept pumping or something like that. It looks to me like Pat deployed the onboard extinguisher so I would expect he hit the master too.....although I can see he might have been a little distracted
