Hants police are doing a television programme series between 26th September and 14 November.

If you use the M27 or the M3 this potentially affects you so please proceed with caution

The programme, a BBC south commission called “Traffic Cops” will be filmed covering the area from Ringwood, Winchester and Cosham.

Teams of police and camera units will be working the following areas:
Ringwood M27 to M3 J9
Ring Road around Southampton
Totton
Cosham M27 (J12ish) to J5 M27
Winchester services M3 to J10 M3

The police will be using 5 unmarked cars; 2 black Skoda 03 plate Octavia’s, 05 plate dark red Mondeo and 2 Volvo saloon cars.

The BBC unit are going to be based out of Southampton and will also be covering the armed police response unit and the Southampton Airport Police Security/British Transport Police Team.

The BBC team will be in Citroen Picasso MPV’s leased from Arriva.

To make it more effective the traffic police have authority from the Chief Constable :to “work to rule” so instead of the laid back approach of the usual Hants traffic police, this will be a lot more concentrated to make it effective filming.

hmm, I saw a blck skodia octavia with flashing lights last Thursday just pulled soemone over. I was on my way on the M3 around winchester in teh Mundano. luckily I was not caning it at all and was probably under the speed limit

In my line of work im constantly up the m27 and ive seen the black octavia many many times, Luckily my daily drive is a peugeot partner van thats done 130k so speeding is deffo not an issue!!!!!!!!
