Have found a company that do Beginners Track Days.

I know the next one is a little too close for getting time off, but I am going to keep an eye on this and if the next one is local (ish) and on a convenient date i'll be there!

The link if anyone is interested:

Typical - I get rid of the ST205 and NOW you find these LOL! ;) Would have loved to go on something like this to ease myself in to learning how to drive on circuits. Hey ho. Maybe one day :)

Cheers,
Mark

Personally I feel that Goodwodd is too fast and with little run off for a novice day. I would prefer an airfield day say at Bruntingthorpe.

Mike & I are looking at booking one of these days to play with our RWD cars if anyone fancies it?

JP, they do try to run airfield days too but don't have any planned at the moment.

The setup of the day looks quite good with instruction and a supervised outing for the first time (can't seem to find the blooming page now but definitely read that earlier!)

I'd still like to give it a go - to be honest, if I am not driving beyond my ability I shouldn't need huge run off areas. Also with other 'novices' out there, hopefully they won't be driving beyond my ability either!!!

You said it felt slow when I took you round in my strangled Elise

Seriously though, with a fully functioning car G'wood is very quick  . Not a problem if you know your limits and drive within them  .

Reading their blurb the Motorsport Event 'Academy' event at Heyford, Oxfordshire is not a track day as such. It is meant as an introduction to track day driving etiquette, etc. I wouldn't mind tagging along to see what they do but I'd reserve my funds for one of their airfield track days. Most of them seem to be within striking distance.

Lucey,

Might be worth a call to easytrack to find out when there beginners only days are - none are listed on the calendar.

I'd be interested, although not strictly a beginner anymore with the new car I'd prefer a 'tamer' environment to get used to it :)
