Had my car done yesterday with a different agent. Really straightforward, feed was taken from the fuel filter, and pump disabled by unplugging grey multiplug in boot. May be psychological, but delighted I had it done. An immediate improvement in idling, in that it's now rock steady, had a tendency to 'hunt' a bit. Feels smoother on acceleration, and this morning in an icy frost, started instantly rather than turning over for about 5 seconds. I'll report back an MPG comparison when I've done one. Was interesting to see the 'gunk' being burned off out the exhaust whilst the process was in progress.

Out of interest, did they remove power from the ECU during the process, this is one of the 'tricks' I've heard about in the past from mechanics when people pay for a 'tune up'. Forcing an ECU to re-learn also removes a history of having to back things off in extremes and often leads to a noticable improvement in the short term.

No mate, ECU wasn't touched at all. Gosh, you seem even more cynical that I am LOL
