Anyone got any information about these ?

I have a friend with a kitcar based on a turbo MX5 engine with a standard ECU and one of these strapped to the side.

I'm wondering whether it's a signal fudger or something closer to a standalone ECU and which parts of the standard ECU are still used.

Also any information / software to link to a PC to adjust maps and read fault / sensor information.

I think it's a piggyback ecu, like the emanage but could be powerful enough to use as a standalone unit. (IIRC I read it in a magazine a while ago)

They were designed as fuel controllers 15 to 20 years ago operating as piggyback units on OEM ECU's They probably work via signal fudgers ;-)

Do you know which version it is? This site is very good for the HKS stuff: - https://1jzmerc.com/hks-faq/hardware/f-con-v-pro-gold

If it's of interest I have one these https://1jzmerc.com/hks-faq/accessories/hks-afk I'm thinking of selling which may work well if its the right version of the Defcon V Gold.
