I hate to say this but if you were starring in The Hurt Locker we would be scraping your remains off the ceiling! Snipping ECU wires scares the crap out of me so I do the simple way of blocking the actuator hose. Too late I know
If it were me I'd try and reconnect the ECU wire you have snipped then at least you can try and return the actuator to standard as Mike has suggested. As he says, your problem is likely to be a mistake with the plumbing so should be an easy fix. It helps if you can get someone to help who has done this on their own car.
If it makes you feel any better I discovered a while back that my boost controller plumbing had not been reconnected properly after a well known turbo specialist had done some work. Said specialist works on WRC cars but human error can still be a factor.
