For a ST205 Projectors are all singing & dancing, although Stevos HID's are much much better.
So I would go for HID's myself.

Yeah training firms normally use them to project slide shows onto walls etc…

Sorry couldn’t help myself, on the ST205’s they had updated the lights to what is known as the projector units towards the end of production.
Go here http://www.fensport.co.uk/parts.htm select ST205 Celica GT4 Turbo, then on the left bar (Slides out as you move over it) select Body & Misc

Just what I have in mind... when I can find the correct HID units for the projectors

Precisely my thinking too. The HID's Steve fitted (supplied by Ian Smith) are a bit blue for my liking. I'd prefer a pure white beam if possible.

If you find anything suitable let me know

Cheers,

Jimmy Chen, who supplied mine, could have supplied the 43000K units too (mine are 6000k)
They actually don't look at all blue from behind the wheel by the way

Only thing is I no longer know how to contact Jimmy. Not sure if he still frequents the OC. I know he was an contact of Ian's so Ian might know something

As Stevo said 43000K maybe??, I am thinking the same as Stevos maybe darker say 80000K ?? there is a group buy going on at the OC site at the moment with a good contact & it looks like he can get the units to fit the projectors :D :D Smithy job again I think.

Sorry,

Dragging this back to the original 165 post!

I am not sure what other options you have. There are Raybrig clear lense upgrades available for the 185 from TCB (Toyota Celica Breakers) for about 100 quid. Reports from OC members who've fitted them have all been positive

And for all models the HID upgrade would be worthwhile. On the 205 it seems a better modification than simply upgrading the original light units but for ultimate lighting new beam units and new bulbs would be the best option

If anyone is interested, I can supply HID kits for $460AUD inc post (about £195).

I have projectors + HID in my 205. Very sharp cutoff (a little too sharp for my personal preference). Slight bleeding (you can see in second photo, overexposed for this reason) - I have 8000K which is slightly blue, my next set of HIDs are 6000K.

Actually work out better than trying to butcher up a harness to wire up to the original HB4 wiring harness. HIDs just feed off a +12V and -12V... take it straight from the harness! 8)

Very easy to fit. Any idiot with half a brain can do it... I mean, I did it myself
