While browsing the net for Jap mods, I found this info (they're 5x100's);

OZ Chrono (traditional - 5 hole) 17x8.0J +35; 11 kg each





OZ Chrono (traditional - 5 hole) 16x8.0J +38; 9.7 kg each





OZ Chrono Evo (10 hole) 17x8.0J +35; 8.7 kg each





So the later spec Evo's are 2.3 kg lighter each, leading to 9.2 kg less rotating unsprung mass compared to the older model!

I used to have the 18*8 OZ Crono Evo's on my blue ST205. They are 'bling' road wheels and as such are not really comparable to the original OZ Crono's which are of robust motorsport construction. I managed to put some dents in my Crono Evo rims They are now out of production but my surviving wheels found a good home on Jon Barnes' ST205 which was also shod with Crono Evo's

I have a couple of sets of the Speedline 16*7 white six spoke wheels which are very similar construction to the OZ Crono. They may be a little bit heavier but they are my weapon of choice to take on the atrocious UK roads with their potholes and awful 'traffic calming' speed bumps. I've hit a few kerbs and other obstacles and the damage has been only cosmetic. Highly recommended by me if you can find a set

I used to have a set of three piece Compomotives with spun alloy outers (similar to BBS) but they had trouble making them round The cast one-piece five and six spoke Compomotives which look similar to the OZ Crono and Speedlines are probably OK.

I'd be interested to hear how people get on with the Rays TE37 as they look good and appear to be light weight. Are they strong enough for use on the UK's potholed and bumpy public roads?

Did the 16" traditional Crono come in a 7" width?

Maybe ill have to measure mine again, i think mine is only 7" wide.

I didnt realise they were this light, they always felt heavier, but i guess a tire full of air will do that
