what gearbox's have you purchased?!
3 boxes is just plain mad, im on 120k on the same box the car came with , just change gear smooth and slow but if you need a good second hand box i would recommend some people over here as 3 is just plain unlucky.

define gears gone

with the engine off no amount of rowing will select 3rd or 4th
with the engine off i'd give oxbridge a good run on the river but I can get a gear
with the engine running, stationary clutch in no 3rd or 4th all others fine
as above but crunches into all gears

everything fine but can't get gears when moving

i'd suggest if 3 boxes have died the same way something is wrong with the shifter

first gearbox in the car when i had it back in feb this year, this had 2nd 3rd 4th syncro problems so i brought a used but apparently very good condition st205wrc gearbox an transfer. fitted this when i fitted the st205 head gasket an new exedy clutch an other new bits, then first run out the 3rd gear syncro was worn so i was more than abit upset an pi55ed at that, but i lived with it for another 5months or so until
the transfer box spat its dummy out an swarf went round the whole box............so.........i brought a st185 shell which came with a gearbox an transfer but no history, so i dropped the oil which looked used but very good an decided to take a chance an wang it in as it had'nt really cost me anything, and it was fantastic no noises no crunchy syncros just a good box. then when the gear select went fairly stiff coming home from work i knew deep down that i was going to be shafted once more and then it happened, i went for 3rd...........nothing......4th..........nothing. still got the rest of the gears as a sort of runner up prize but its left a rather bitter taste in my mouth.
and now i carnt even take the micky out of my landrover lovin friends about gearbox problems!

Try giving Mark Mills a call (http://www.st205parts.co.uk/) - he's near Gloucester and should be able to sort you out a decent gearbox.

If you had loads of dwarf in the oil from box no. 2, what did you do to clean out cooler and pipes on the car?

Maybe the shifter and the shifting cabels are worth to have a look for and don´t forget the front and specially the rear engine mounts. If they are worn out the shifting will be problematic as first.

If Mr Burt doesn't want it, I might be interested. How much?
