Well, there was method to the madness.

I've been talking with my accountant mate and wanted to get some numbers together to see if it would be worthwhile setting up a company for racing and VAT registering it to claim back the VAT.

I also want to put together an illustration for people considering entering the championship next year so they can have a real world example of costings rather than the questionable pricings that are out there already. Basically £800-1000 a race meeting is about right and add £2k should you decide to speed hug a tyre wall!

Sounds about right. Assuming no damage its about £1,000 to run the FF1600 at a one day meeting. I could shave a bit off by doing more myself and with mates helping but still reckon it would be circa £4-500. That doesn't include the cost of engine rebuild which would be around the £2- 3,000 mark. You need at least £8,000 to do the season at club level.

Hope that doesn't put too many people off!

Round 4 of the FFDR Scottish Mini Cooper Cup is on MotorsTV tonight, 7:05pm - 8:05pm.

As I said in my summary, wet -> damp -> dry conditions in race one made for interesting choices in set up and a number of smashes (as a driver I hate them, but as a spectator, I know they add to the excitement) and as for race two, well...
