The 205 management system suffers nowhere near as badly from vac leaks than either the 165 or the 185 since it does not have an AFM.

Got my new catch can in today. It helped out a lot. Vac is now 19 at idle. Idle is better and does not dip as much. So there is still a small vac leak at large.

THe car sounds louder and more aggressive now too. It also pulls harder. Can't wait to sort out all these vac issues. I think I am almost there.

Alright, I am running out of things to check. The caar runs ok, but still has a hard time building boost over 10psi and still feels like it might be slightly pulling timing above 10psi.

I have made some adjustments and tightened all my hoses.

I have been using a device I made for finding leaks and it keeps blowing off. I think my air leaks are resolved though.

Vac is at 19hg, which leads me to concider my vac setup still has something wrong.

It idles fine on startup but the idle dips to ~300-400 after coming to a stop.

It drives fine while cruising and only has issues above 10psi.

I have an error code 23. (I have been told this is an abs code among other things) this might be part of the problem though.

I had a friend take pics of his 205 engine. My hoses match his, except these (for the charcoal canister).

I used one for boost and blocked the other off.

Here is a pic of the two hoses I speak of. Any suggestions on where to go from here? I can post vid of the dash if it helps diagnose anything.

Error 23 is to do with the air intake temp sensor. On the 205 this is mounted to the right of the throttle body on the plenum chamber. You might want to check this is in good order and maybe meter this out?

I dare say running this error code will cause the timing to be retared and the boost to be low if you are still running with the TVSV system.

Stick with it, it'll be worth it :) Running an OEM system at 17psi is more reliable that some other methods!
My 2p - clear the error codes first as the car is announcing it is seeing a problem, worry about charcoal cannister problems later.

The TB hoses - I'd use a different place to fit a boost gauge as the hole to tell back to the boost gauge is very small and also obscured by the TB butterfly valve.

If it is that sensor there is a chance I wired it backwards. I will trace the wires and check the colors.

Checked the wiring. Its right. (THA)
I had an extra sensor I plugged in then cleared the codes. Then code 23 came up again.

Someone from alltrac.net suggests it might be the charcoal canister.
Code 23 = Evaporator temperature indicator
The link they sent me is dead at the moment.

Josh, there isn't a code for the Evap Temp Indicator.

Have you measured the resistance of the sensors that you have?

The Plenum air temp sensor is the one you want to focus on THAM :)

So, the one under the throttle body? or the one in the air box?

Throttle body, not the air box one :)

I just checked the wires. They are wrong.
The wire at the ecu is blue, but the wires I wired in are not. Green w/ red stripe and black w/ yellow stripe.
I had planned on using the 185 egr temp sensor wires for the THAM. I tired another plug with the same wire colors as the 185 diagram says, but I still get hte code.

I am going to hunt for some images of the egr plug so that I can make sure I am using the right plug for this.

Well, it looks like I am using the correct wires. But I still get the code even after clearing out the ecu.

I moved my boost guage to the back of the manifold and wired up the idle vsv.

Still runs about the same. I think I am puting the rest of my car projects on hold and try and finish just getting it runing right.

I found my code 23 issue. I have a harness extension at the ecu that I can use to tap my emange into.

I found that I had a wire in the wrong place. Resolved the issue though. Moved the wire, code 23 is gone.

Now I have a code 31. and my vac is low as well. ~15hg.

Code 31 is an open or short in vac sensor.
Good lord, what could that mean now.

Code 31 is the MAP sensor.

From memory there is 3 wires for the map sensor:

1 - +5V
2 - 0V
3 - Sensor signal

Have you checked that all three of these wires are terminated at the correct location?

I would presume that your low vac is because the car is now in "limp home mode"

I will recheck the wires once it cools down outside 95degress right now.
I wonder if I unplugged something while fixing code 23.
