hey up guys, after many months of problems with the aussie pipes rotting through and many conversations with Tim who owns TBDev we decided on making a 3 mid pipe seen as nobody really makes them any more.

so the car went down to him for monday and yesterday evening we are finished.

Really happy with how it has turned out, stainless obviously, 3" and in 1 piece too.

so heres some pics and if anyone wants a mid pipe or wants some info or anything then fire away as ive told tim about the serious lack of mid pipes for the GTfours and seen as his downpipe was such a success i told him it made sense to make a mid pipe and use my car as a test.. so here we are with the pics.

its a 205 fella, but im 100% certain he can do a 185 if he was wanted too.

nobody has ever asked before so i said to him,

"Tim, make i have an idea for you to produce mid pipes"

and this is how the final thing came out, nobody has asked so nobody has made like but if people wanted them i can ask him if he will produce them as a off shelf item as it has come off even better than he thought it would too.

so yeah, 205 this but i cant see a 185 being a problem though, one of our friends girlfriends has a 185 so that can be used as a template for a mid pipe.

but i am seeing him when i pick the car up soon so if you want then i shall ask. :)

i will ask him as i am paying different, but i think they will be around the £ 350 mark.

not sure for certain but better quality workmanship and reliabillity than aussie by a mile and no knocks or anything on the bottom of the car so superb.

and my reasoning for needing tim to make me the nice new mid pipes.... this is good people and shows the QA and build quality of Aussie exhausts

now the weld patch was where the first holes appeared.... i then welded up that hole and went on the trackday to snetterton and woohoo, my exhaust looked like the above and as though it had been shot with a machine gun!! haha

:) iirc Aussie mid pipe is mild steel.
 hence they rust.
 lots.

yes obvious it is mild steel. haha but what im saying is that ive seen alot of cheaper mild steel exhausts that have lasted longer than the 3-4 years mine has been on, and just look at it! (i had my pug 205 system for 7 years and was still fine. )

not too good when it all honesty it wasnt that old, although i am more than happy with the new exhaust as the fit strangley appears to be tighter than the old aussie and also seems to be further off the ground stightly which is nice as i kept catching on speed bumbs before. :(

I've had mild that's lasted nowhere near that long so it's a bit of a gamble. The last cheng shin bean tin carp I put on the Mundano has pretty much vanished after 2 years
Then again if was 70 snots so I didn't expect that much.
I would expect better from Aussie even if it's mild

New one looks good. Looks a pain to fit without dropping the E/W subframe though

yeah we dropped the frame as i wanted a 1 piece system.

cant beleive your exhaust lasted 2 years!! :D lol thats shocking!

yeah the quality is superb though and sounds awesome again, he will make them to order and fit them in with the price so no fitting i dont think and do a 1 peice.. or he could do the 2 peice.

would deffo recommend though as the fit is perfect, but then he said he would like to make to order for the cars though as i told him he should sell them as it was that good...

and this was the first too

My Aussie has been on the car for 5 years and about 70.000 [km]. Still good. The fitment is another thing. It touches about everything and makes the car drone alot. Next time I'll try something else for sure.

Lol at the holes in the pipe, man that is a thin wall now.

haha, it looks like someone shot it with a machine gun eh!! :D

this is the thing, with some being ok and others being aweful... (mine) the quality control cannot be that good.

but i suppose if something is made with the car there in place then likely it will fit better than if its just done and then fitted.

thanks for that! but i cant take the credit, it was my idea for him to do them as i know he is good with metal works but all the welding and pipework was done by Tim. :)

full 3 inch material so if you are interested let us know and i shall ask him as i know he said he could do them if people wanted.
