hi guys :)., as a question it may sound strange..was thinking 3sgte of course.
really trying to get an opinion on air into the engine and peeps thoughts on quantity ? since my rr results i have made a couple of changes to the way air is fed to the filter, the existing feed being next to useless.larger id straight intake and a direct feed from the front bumper with 2" hose all the way from a modified liquids funnel as an air catcher.
overkill ? possibly but it works a treat, having said that..is it possible to over "air" the motor ?

pre turbo then no IMHO. The less pressure drop you get pre turbo the better, the sooner you will achieve boost and the less hard you will have to work the turbo.

The only thing that you can do to *bleep* it all up is to ..
If you have a large funnel - at speed the engine may not consume all the air and you can create a high pressure in front of the funnel which stalls the air!

A good demonstration of how to overcome this was in the early 70s f1 cars - look at the size of the air inlet at entry point and how it flares out to slow the air velocity before filter/inlet trumpets.

looks like a smurf to me :-)

thats papa...wondered where he went !
well boost is definately stronger and a wee bit earlier to boot lol. flares were all the rage back then even in f1 it seems.
although keith says its made no difference, i noticed it almost at once. ok the funnel isnt pretty but its effective.
