I got my second pair of lenses from Richard today, and after a bit of prepping, this is what I came up with!

The original orange lenses, complete.

After the lenses have been baked off (approx. 90 degrees C), this is what the insides look like:

I cut the middle divider with a sharp Stanley knife. The cut doesn't need to be particularly clean, as you won't actually see it behind the frosted lenses.

After that, I sprayed the inside of the lenses black for that meaner look.

A test fit with the orange lenses (the clear ones haven't arrived yet :P). They look good:

They look even better with the clear ones!!

Finally - this is what they look like on the car.

And the indicators are still very bright. Dimmer than with a silver backing, but more than acceptable.

I'm actually really pleased with the black backing. Makes it look so much nicer than the silver :D

Yes - whilst I was reading the post, when I got to the spraying it black bit I thought - uh oh.

But looking at the finished pics it looks good. :)

I was worried it would be too dark, but I tested it before I sealed (reheated the headlight assembly) the lens on.

It is good to see what they are going to look like when fitted. I too have a storm blue 205, so it is nice to see on the car :)

I have a set but haven't got round to fitting them yet (too much work no time off :( ) definitely a saturday afternoon project!

Hopefully I am going to get them fitted in time for Japfest :D

PS i LOVE the projector lights, another purchase to add to the wish list. Oh if only I was rich!!!

Some people are like a Slinky .. Not really good for anything, but they make you smile when you shove them down the stairs!

Tangla, what HID's have you fitted to your projectors? e.g. make, rating etc.

They are Xelux 50W, 6000K.
Previously they were Xelux 35W, 8000K.

Let me know if you're interested... I can supply Xelux, BJ Union and mtec HIDs :)
