Finally got around to fitting the Whiteline Anti-Roll Bar (ARB) to my JDM ST205 :) I've had one on my highly modded Stormy Blue ST205 for some time but as I was running TRD springs and KYB adjustable dampers it was harder to tell if it made much difference.

Getting the old OEM bar off was a bit of a sod as both drop link securing nuts were very tight/corroded and the Allen Key socket couldn't take the strain  Decided to drill the socket and nut off rather than try and save the drop links

After that, it was easy to fit the new ARB. I decided to set it at full soft i.e. the hole nearest the end of the bar. The suspension is, I'm pretty sure, still the original struts and the springs and dampers are a bit tired. Before fitting the ARB the car had a tendency to roll and understeer so you couldn't really press on over twisty roads. Fitting the ARB has virtually eliminated this tendency.

For anybody with an ST205 with tired suspension I can highly recommend this mod as a cost-effective way of restoring some semblance of handling to the car.

Rear or front??

If it is rear then could I have a look sometime??, mine seems to kick out at the rear on the odd corner while pushing it (On private roads I might add :0) ).

I take it they replace the bar & drop links then??

The whiteline bar is a rear one, part number BTR29Z from memory.

Its just the bar, when I fitted mine I also replaced with new Toyota droplinks (blueprint also available) although this is not always neccesary. :)

I'm waiting for a PM from Doomanic about a Whiteline bar. Note that the BTR29Z is the 185 model, which alos fits the 205 - Whiteline officially doesn't make a 205 bar. When fitting my Teins, I completely destroyed the endlinks

So I have these babies ready to go in:

don, i bought a new drop link for the rear of my 165 and im sure it was around £27 from Mr.T - so £50 for a pair of those seems pretty good value.

unless of course, i was stiffed by my local dealer and should have been charged £10! :)
